Tiger McKee Advanced Handgun/Carbine/Vehicle Defense Course in Baton Rouge

Tiger McKee, owner/director of Shootrite Firearms Academy, will be in the Baton Rouge area offering a three day training class addressing his Advanced Handgun/Carbine Combatives material as well as his Vehicle Defense  material.

About Tiger:

SHOOTRITE founder and director Tiger McKee is a lifelong student of personal combat, and is one of the nation’s top firearms instructors for armed citizens, law enforcement, military and security personnel. McKee was awarded an expert rating with handgun and rifle by Colonel Jeff Cooper of Gunsite, and has been an adjunct instructor at Thunder Ranch since 1995. He has assisted various agencies in designing their own customized training programs, and as an adjunct instructor for the Federal Bureau of Investigation he currently enjoys teaching some of the world’s most elite law enforcement agents.

Class dates are Friday the 19th through Sunday the 21st of February.

Advanced Handgun/Carbine Combatives -
This class develops the skills needed to blend the the pistol, carbine, and your mind into one seamless package. HG/Carbine is ideal for anyone who owns or uses both weapons, and is one of our most most popular classes.  Will also include working with the use of barricades to demonstrate cover/concealment/movement to and from those things.
(20 hrs, min 500, up to 800 rds each weapon)

This class will also include -

Vehicle Defense – Handgun

Vehicle Defense studies the theories and specific skills required fighting with a handgun in and around vehicles, from both driver and passenger viewpoints. Live-fire drills will teach students the presentation techniques of the handgun within the confines of their vehicle, clearing of seatbelts and doorways, exit techniques and ground movement for vehicle defense. This instruction focuses heavily on the mental aspects of vehicle defense including a discussion on defensive driving techniques and tactics to spot and avoid potential problems, plus the mental skills for confronting trouble if it’s unavoidable.

Course Description
An entry-level course where students are familiarized with their rifles. The class will thoroughly cover:
• Proper choice and placement of gear
• Different optics and accessories
• Effective shooting stance
• Proper weapon grip
• Recoil control
• Sight alignment
• Sight picture using iron sights and electronic optics
• Trigger control
• Speed reloads
• Tactical reloads
• Possible malfunctions of the rifle
• Strong and weak hand shooting while both stationary and on the move
• Different shooting positions
• Choosing the proper position for the task
